Cobalt?containing spherical glass nanoparticles for therapeutic ion release

چکیده

Bioactive glass nanoparticles (BGNPs) can be internalized by cells, allowing the intracellular release of dissolution products with therapeutic benefit. Different ions incorporated into network that promote angiogenesis via simulation hypoxia conditions and consequent activation pro-angiogenic genes. Here, novel monodispersed spherical dense BGNPs were obtained a modified Stober method SiO2–CaO–CoO composition, diameters 92 ± 1 nm, cobalt as ion. The presence Co2+ species role Co Ca modifiers in silica confirmed X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy 29Si solid-state magic-angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance, respectively. Controlled ion was observed culture media, no cytotoxicity (4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide cell viability assay on human osteosarcoma cells direct contact nanoparticles. This study demonstrated BGNPs, these materials exhibit great potential delivery systems properties.

Cytotoxicity and ion release of alloy nanoparticles

It is well-known that nanoparticles could cause toxic effects in cells. Alloy nanoparticles with yet unknown health risk may be released from cardiovascular implants made of Nickel-Titanium or Cobalt-Chromium due to abrasion or production failure. We show the bio-response of human primary endothelial and smooth muscle cells exposed to different concentrations of metal and alloy nanoparticles. N...

The bioactivity and ion release of titanium-containing glass polyalkenoate cements for medical applications.

The ion release profiles and bioactivity of a series of Ti containing glass polyalkenoate cements. Characterization revealed each material to be amorphous with a T(g) in the region of 650-660°C. The network connectivity decreased (1.83-1.35) with the addition of TiO(2) which was also evident with analysis by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Ion release from cements were determined using atomic...

Microstructured glass chip for ion-channel electrophysiology.

We present a technique by which it is possible to produce a planar sensor for ion channel electrophysiology from glass substrates. Apertures with diameters in the low micrometer to submicrometer range are achieved by irradiation of a glass chip with a single heavy ion and subsequent wet track etching. The function of the device is demonstrated by recordings of single channel currents mediated b...
